Our Philosophy

We believe God's perfect word in Acts 17:26 -- "The God who made the world and everything in it...determined the times and the exact places where they should live

Our Purpose

To reach out in friendship and empathy to newly relocated women in the Knoxville area and to be an Open Door and Welcome to women and their families to the City of Knoxville and West Park Baptist Church

Our Objectives

To honor God through our interactions with others.

To illustrate and personify through our past relocation experiences, Isaiah 61:3 "...beauty instead of ashes...gladness instead of mourning."

To provide information and connections to West Park Baptist Church and to the city of Knoxville and surrounding area for women who have relocated to this area within the past 12 months and have visited West Park or been referred by a member.

Why Should I Be Involved?

Moving can be overwhelming. That's why West Park offers women opportunities to connect with others. Through quarterly coffees, lunch dates, shopping excursions, and activities based on similar interest, we help newcomers get acquainted with our church family and the Knoxville community.

How Can I Be Involved?

Open Door has many opportunities to welcome newcomers to Knoxville and to West Park: Contact and set up a visit to deliver a welcome bag and extend a warm welcome to Knoxville; host a quarterly "Friendship Coffee"; take a newcomer to lunch or go shopping; connect a newcomer with other women of like interests like crafts, scrapbooking, music, photography, etc. The options are endless.
